SAVE IRELAND! That’s the objective of graphic designer Fergus O’Neill’s ‘Keep Going Sure It’s Grand’ project. By producing an original edition of 42 billion screen prints, O’Neill is pledging one euro from every sale to the state thus halving our banking crisis debt. He says of the project: “the bid to sell 42 billion of these posters may seem absurd but it can be deemed no more absurd than the outrageous practices and policies that landed us here. There is little we can do except be ourselves and get on with it.” A range of 'modern Irish' products have emerged from the process as O'Neill believes Irish design is more than the twee and more than the serious, it can also be humorous but well designed. A comment on the nature of 'Irish celebrity' and the Victorian obsession of memorabilia. "This spectacular collection features a gold rimmed dinner plate from which to eat your chips off, a pair of lovers cups from which to toast a joyous occasion (perhaps a Celtic win or the birth of your sixth child) and a delicate dish to keep yer bits and pieces in or to tap yer Johnny Blue into, if you wish. The Signature Collection features an outstanding selection of the finest celebroyalty that Ireland has to offer". Irish celebroyalty
A cat is a cat... is an on going illustrative project that appears as a blog. It is authored under the pseudonym, Osmand Nosse. Who in his own words, likes: owls, words like ‘yachts’, skiffle music, taking pictures of clouds, marmalade and when dogs yawn and sound like they are saying something. I once heard a small terrier yawn the name ‘Philip’, seriously... he said 'Philip'. A cat is a cat... and that is that

Making things look better is the work of freelance creative Fergus O'Neill. Fergus believes in the BIG IDEA and applies this rational to create, entice and engage. He is ashamed of himself for using the term 'freelance creative' but feels that 'graphic designer' is as antiquated as 'Candlestick maker' or 'Cooper'.
Secretly he still thinks he is a graphic designer and has imagined conversations with David Ogilvy in his smart Pimlico studio before whizzing off in his Jensen Interceptor for a luncheon meeting with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
